REAL STAIR CLIMBER JOBS, FROM PROBLEM TO FIXED
Client names are kept private. The photos below are from actual jobs.
STAIRMASTER SM916: STAIRS WOULD NOT MOVE
Problem: The console powered on normally, but the stairs would not move at all.
How we got there: We tested the relay board and alternator bushings - both fine. The fault traced to the gearbox: the lever cog assembly was loose and the cogs were not catching. Our lead technician came out to confirm the gearbox could be opened and serviced, and we sourced the exact parts rather than guessing.
Result: New gearbox installed with the old components transferred and the casing re-secured. The stairs run again.
STAIRMASTER 4000PT: STOPPED WORKING
Problem: A StairMaster 4000PT suddenly stopped working. The first guess, from a phone diagnosis, was the battery or the brush guards.
How we got there: We came out with brush guards in hand - then ran the manufacturer’s power-flow tests and found the brush guards were fine. The alternator failed to hold at full resistance.
Result: The real fault identified before anyone spent money on the wrong part: a failing alternator.
